Tattoos a la Chanel

Soon, you'll be able to have a high fashion temporary tat. According to Times Online, Chanel is set to launch a line of body stickers. What will they look like? "The press release... refers to 'ethereal trompe l'oeils," 'modern and poetic emblematic codes" and "there's further talk of leather, flowers, pearls and chain motifs- all clever riffs on Mademoiselle Chanel's favourite things." I guess Karl Lagerfeld wants to make the Chanel name even more wearable.

They won't be available until March, but there's already a waiting list and a package of 49 designs will be sold for about $79. I won't be buying any but I really want to see what all of them look like. It's a cool idea and I love how it looks on the model. But in the hands of a label- obsessed, fashion victim, I'm afraid they might look a little...tacky. Now on someone like Lilly Allen, singer and the current face of the Chanel Cocoon handbag line, I think the Chanel body art would look really fab. What do you think?

Ooo La La!

Even though I've recently started wearing Marc Jacob's Lola perfume, Miss Dior Cherie is one of my favorite fragrances ever. The commercial for the scent, which is absolutely darling, was directed by Sofia Coppola and features the song "Moi Je Joue" by Brigitte Bardot. I must say, I'm slightly envious of the charming life the "Miss Dior Cherie" girl leads, which is filled with couture dress fittings, yummy French pastries, and sheer loveliness. You can watch the commercial below:

I imagine this Parisienne would fill her closet with pieces from Nina Ricci's Spring 2010 and Pre- Fall 2010 collections:

Tres, tres chic

Beauty Buzz: The Side Braid

Braids made a big comeback on the S/S '10 runways. My favorite interpretation of the trend is the side braid models wore at Alexander Wang:

(Karlie Kloss and Natasha Poly)

The look is pretty, messy, and fresh and it complimented Wang's sporty- chic collection perfectly. It'll be a lil hard for me to recreate this look on myself because my hair is medium- length and layered. But that won't keep me from trying.

Red Bottoms

I would love to walk a mile in this woman's shoes. I go crazy for a great animal print and these Christian Louboutin cheetah ankle boots are ridiculously fierce.

The (Chic) Simpsons

While I was watching TV yesterday, I saw a commercial for the 20th anniversary episode of "The Simpsons". It reminded me of this:

The Simpsons and a "Simpson-ized" Linda Evangelista, Alber Elbaz, Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, and Viktor & Rolf were featured in a fantastic spread in the August 2007 issue of Harper's Bazaar. It's so creative and fun. Who knew the Simpsons had style?

He Said, She Said

"Over the years I have learned that what is important in a dress is the woman who is wearing it"

Surprise, Suprise

Now I'm usually not a fan of ponchos, but I actually like this one by Theory. The dolman sleeves are quite cool, the zipper gives it a sporty feel, which is very on- trend (see Alexander Wang's S/S '10 collection), and the leather trim is a luxe touch. Very nice.

From Russia, with Love (and Fur)

PETA would flip if they saw these pics. Fur is definitely a hot button item in the fashion world. While it oozes luxury and glamour, many refrain from wearing it for ethical reasons. But faux fur has been quite popular lately and it's something both sides can be pleased with. I was able to get a great cardigan with a faux fur collar from H&M a few months ago that keeps me warm and toasty...With faux fur, you get the look without the guilt. Nevertheless, these pics from Harper's Bazaar Russia feature real fur and are really fabulous.

DVF Resort 2010

Someone...anyone... buy me one of these looks and a round trip ticket to Rio. Please and thank you :)

PS: I had the opportunity to hear Diane Von Furstenberg speak at Teen Vogue Fashion U. The woman is amazing and so are her clothes.
