MOD

No, not the ‘60s look popularized by Twiggy. M.O.D= Model Off Duty. The look is effortlessly cool with layers and great accessories. It can be seen on almost all catwalk regulars and basically consists of leggings/ skinny jeans, tees, leather jackets, cardis, and boots. But the elements of the outfit vary with the girl. Layering is really important and adds depth. Then key accessories such as scarves, hats, and bags are thrown in for personalization. Color? Neutrals, especially black, are used the most. I am really fond of this look and rock it often. It’s stylish yet uncomplicated.

J'adore Garance Dore

Garance Dore is a fashion photographer and blogger who has great photos accompanied by charming stories of her life and travels. She's also the girlfriend of Scott Schuman, fashion photographer and "The Sartorialist." So Garance has major fashion cred and major talent. She also has marvelous illustrations. I have a few on a wall in my dorm room.

Love.

Ahhh... Balenciaga

My love affair with Balenciaga really began with the Fall 2007 RTW collection.

And it continues to grow stronger with each season ♥

Recent Purchase- Into the Wild

I was granted the amazing opportunity this past October to attend Teen Vogue’s Fashion U (I’ll be doing a feature on that soon). On top of incredible seminars and shopping events, we were given Lesportsac bags filled with swag. I thought my pink girly bag was uber cute but I was slightly envious of the girls who got the leopard print ones. Fortunately Marc by Marc Jacobs has a perfect leopard print bag that I had to have and I absolutely love it! My new fav bag.

"Give Them the BOLD Shoulder"

I loved the bold shoulder looks that marched down Balmain's Fall 2009 runway (left). And this LBD by Silence and Noise (right) is on trend but much friendlier on the wallet ($58). Definitely on my wish list.

"Dress Me, I'm your Mannequin"

I am a HUGE Lady Gaga fan. So naturally I'm crazy about her song "Fashion" from the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" soundtrack.
Enjoy!

Caution: Killer Shoes!

Peep these INSANE Nina Ricci (above) and Alexander McQueen shoes (below)! The bold Ricci shoes have been spotted on daring fashionista Daphne Guinness. And Lady Gaga struts in the McQueen booties in her new video, "Bad Romance." Amazing! And definitely not for the faint of heart.

Frou Frou 'Fros at Louis Vuitton

Check out these ridiculously cute, over the top afros the models wore at the Spring 2010 Louis Vuitton show. And the tiny bows are a perfect touch. J'adore!

I must have...

The Sam Edelman York pumps. The suede and studs make this a fabulous shoe. And with a 5" heel and 1 1/2" platform, sky's the limit! You know what they say: the higher the heel, the closer to Heaven :)

Random Thought

I love this pic of Rihanna rocking out during a performance (via theybf.com) It reminded me of deadly assassin Beatrix Kiddo's (Kill Bill) outfit. Yellow with black stripes done in two distinctly different ways!

Model Call!

The lovely Sessilee Lopez! One of my fave models.

Simply Stunning!

He Said, She Said

“ I don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day.”

The now infamous quote was uttered by one of the original supermodels, Linda Evangelista. Technically, the original quote was "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day", referring to how much money models made during that time. But this one is so much better. So diva-esque. According to thinkexist.com, Evangelista has since been quoted as saying: “There was a time when everyone remembered that stupid thing about me not getting out of bed for less than $10,000 a day. These days, it's far more important to me that I'm part of a team which raises over $1 million a month for Aids. I'm much more proud of that, than that other old quote.” Nice.

Meet Miss Marc

I am crazy for Marc Jacobs. He does incredible work not only with his lines but also with the legendary Louis Vuitton label. But one of his lines, Marc by Marc Jacobs, has it's own cute mascot: Miss Marc. She's quirky, cool, and a definite attention getter. Very major.

Want more Miss Marc? Shop Bloomingdales and Nordstrom for great tops and accessories featuring the adorable icon.

Bonjour

Ok. This is my very first blog post. A little about myself: My name's Tyler. I'm 19, I go to UMD College Park, and I love Love LOVE fashion. It's such an amazing and transformative form of expression (There's no denying the power of a fabulous pump or a great pair of jeans.) I'm an avid magazine reader (I will soon be taking full advantage of my boyfriend's Barnes and Noble discount for subscriptions) and I am working towards becoming a fashion editor. So of course fashion is what I'll be talking about on here: The latest trends, amazing collections and designers, inspiring photos, icons, clothes and accessories I crave...things of that nature. So stay tuned...
